Public Relations - Case Studies

Because we understand the subtleties of complex policy questions we design and implement communications plans that get results. Our experience speaks for itself:

The Issue: North America's largest shortline railroader, OmniTRAX Inc. purchased a Canadian intermodal transportation network. They turned to Welchert & Britz for a press strategy to maximize their exposure while carefully negotiating international political sensitivities.
The Result: Welchert & Britz crafted press plans for Canadian and U.S. media focusing on OmniTRAX's unique business strategies and financial strength, exemplified in their dealings with the Canadian government. These efforts brought widespread, positive coverage of the purchase on both sides of the border, highlighted by feature articles in the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.
The Issue: The Irish Ambassador to the United States was in Colorado to promote tourism and trade.
The Result: Welchert & Britz directed a targeted media relations campaign that resulted in the ambassador being prominently featured in print and electronic media.
The Issue: The United States would host the first Western Hemisphere trade and commerce forum bringing together government and business leaders from 34 nations.
The Result: Welchert & Britz managed event logistics and implemented an aggressive multi-lingual media strategy to promote, cover and report on the event. The exhaustive coverage garnered a first place Pollie Award for best free media. President Clinton pointed to the event's success as reason to award Denver with the G-8 Summit two years later.
The Issue: With the fate of Denver's International Airport resting in the voters hands, KMGH-TV was looking to capture public attention.
The Result: NEWS 7 turned to Steve Welchert for expert advice and insightful on-air analysis that helped the station break several exclusive stories and become the recognized media leader in this crucial decision.
