Rock and Roll stops the traffic

This is my page as a tribute to my favorite band, U2. I have only started to like them in recent years. Due to this, I missed the ZooTV tour. Though, I went to the Denver concert here for Popmart! And that was so unbelievable I can hardly describe the feeling of it. I went with my best friend Andrea, who is also in lo ve with the band as much as I am. We went about 3 hours early. That was an awsome experience! At first I heard a loud bass, and we thought it was the car next to us with a really loud stereo system. Then I got out of the car and was shocked at what I heard! I was so happy at that point that I was actually able to hear them warm up. They played "Staring at the Sun" for at least an hour or two, trying to get it right. I overheard that the reason for this was because they messed up kinda bad at the San Diego show. Either way, I didn't care; I got to hear them warm up!

I wish that I could have taken my camera into the stadium with me. I was so upset since I could have stuck it in my back pocket and no one would have known the difference. Although I did get a few pictures. One was of th e stage when we got there. One was of Andrea wrapped up in my flag. And the last one was of the stage after the concert. I was hoping that I could have gotten one of the members to sign my flag. I thought going early enough I would get to see them. However, they didn't show their faces at all.

As far as the music goes, all I can say was that I was speechless! It was an experience that I will never forget. They really know how to work a crowd. My favorite parts are when the crowd sings along. The sound that makes is so comforting, and I wonder how the band feels when we sing for him. I know I love it! I will say that my favorite song of the whole concert was "Please." I will never forget the way it was portrayed. Now it is one of my favorite songs.

Here is the play list for the concert in Denver, Colorado on May 1, 1997:

Pop Muzik, Mofo, I Will Follow, Even Better than the Real Thing, Do You Feel Loved, Pride, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Last Night on Earth, Gone, Until the End of the World, If God Will Send His Angels, Staring at the Sun, Day Dream Bel iever, Miami, Bullet the Blue Sky, Please, Where the Streets Have No Name, Lemon (perfecto mix), Discotheque, With or Without You, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, Mysterious Ways, One.

This is a picture of me in my "Edge" shirt. If you look carefully at it, you will notice that it's almost exactly like the one he is wearing on the cover of "Rattle And Hum." The funny thing is that my dad bought the shirt in Africa in 1974. A person at the concert commented on it and noticed right away that it looked exactly like Edge's shirt. The thing I am pointing to in the picture is a flag that I made. And of course, I had to take it to the concert! People there helped me hold it up. The flag is too big to be held up by two people. I hope the boys saw it. Andrea swore that they did, but who knows?

These are some of my favorite U2 web pages. I know there aren't many, but these are the ones that I like to visit the most.
