I Tried

I take a journey on my own
it has caused me to be alone
I've taken my own way and flown

Learning what's mportant to me
I've shown my face, and did not flee
I live up to no one's decree

Other's standards are not a high
I won't have my mind in that dye,
since I occupy my own eye

Overcoming problems I've faced
are not a complete udder waste
They are only worth what they are placed

True self, I'm able to expose
Without my saying, nothing goes.
This is the life that I chose

I turn my back upon the world.
take criticisms they unfurled
back in their face, I have hurled.

I have the dignity and pride
for I know when I'm denied
I live my life and I tried, I tried.
