SnakesI walk down the foggy streetsThey are my reality I take fright in the way the gray snakes slink down the walk They bite and curl up around my ankles. I'm not able to get away. No matter how fast I run. Staring at a cesspool of rainwater I smell the venom in the air. I'm frantic and nervous, The world is a blur. It spins around me I crouch down to shut myself out hoping the hissing will disappear. Rocking back and forth, I flinch at very swirling slither. I'm waiting for the poison to take affect I lay down and stare at what's above I see the moody look in the clouds eyes They tear up and cry more of those vile creatures Those serpents devour my hopes and dreams I lay here and take it all in They won this battle My struggle is over Now it is my turn to secretly slither away. |
